When we see something or someone for the first time that captures our attention, we want to get closer and see it up close. We do this when we see something beautiful in nature. Animals capture our attention, so we get close to them to talk to them and to pet them. Attention getting can apply to many things. As we all know, people attract each other. In many instances, your girlfriend, boyfriend, or spouse got your attention. Why? Because there was something about you that stood out, something enticed him/her to want to meet you.
In real estate we refer to attention getting as ‘Curb appeal.’ You’ve probably heard that term before. It refers to how valuable and enticing your home looks to a buyer who is “standing on the curb”.
It is the outside of the house that brings attention to the inside of the house. Many people focus on prepping the inside of their home for sale, neglect the outside. It is the outside of a house that ‘speaks’ to the person “standing on the curb” or the one driving by.
I wouldn’t want you to make that mistake. You see, in my experience selling homes for many years, I’ve noticed that curb appeal has a huge influence over how quickly a property sells, and for how much. It is the outside of your house, the curb appeal, that could bring you the potential buyer you have been waiting on!
How do you improve the curb appeal of your home?
You already have a great looking property. So, you probably only need to do a few simple things to make your curb appeal even more… appealing!
